And my awareness of his passing once again prods me to remember to get around to reading some of the works of this widely celebrated writer. He's just about the only major American author whose work I haven't read despite wanting to (there's something about Updike which tells me that I can do just fine without suffering through his longeurs). First on my must-read list is Herzog, and in light of the temper of the times, this will naturally be followed by Ravelstein.
I've read three of his books, HENDERSON THE RAIN KING, HERZOG, and one of his earlier ones, the name of which I can't remember because his books never did make much of an impression on me.
Hope you'll enjoy them more...
