The problem is that after the Ramadan affair, anything the authorities do immediately comes under suspicision.

Incidentally, thanks for posting the links. This is why I enjoy reading your blog more than others where I might agree with everything they say. I occasionally learn something.

I don't know if you're responding to me anymore after the Electoral College argument but for what it's worth, I still find your blog worth reading.

No 'ard feelings here, mate, not my style. It's bigots, trolls and liars I can't stand, and you don't fall into any of those categories (or at least I hope not!)

Israel's banning of him probably has more than a little to do with the fact that he was born a Swedish Jew. Converting to Islam isn't good form.

I have read only the news coverage and can't know what the homeland security guys were thinking but both of his actions (financial support of Hamas and support of death fatwa against Rushdie) are from the 1980s. The question is what has happened recently to make him a threat. I can't find an answer to that anywhere.

I don't accept that there's such a thing as a statute of limitation on being guilty of supporting mass murderers, which is what Hamas are. If there were such a thing, it would also be permissible to let the backers of Carlos the Jackal come and go as they pleased, as they too could claim to have done no wrong in a decade or more.

The United States is under no obligation to let any foreigners into its borders, and the known blots on Yusuf Islam's record are more than sufficient to justify keeping him out. I prefer to save my concern for people who actually deserve it.
